Community Grants Panels

Expression of Interest

The City of Greater Dandenong Council invites applications from interested community members to join and contribute to Council's Community Grants Panels.

Community Grants Panels (The Panel) have been established to make funding recommendations for Council’s Medium and Large Community Grants Programs.

The Panels:

  • Provide objective, independent recommendations to Council based on reviewing and assessing the completed applications against the relevant criteria.
  • Provide transparency and community involvement in Council decision-making.
  • Allow for a more holistic, objective, and reasoned approach to assessing grants.

The Community Grants Panels engage Community Representatives across 18-21 panels over a two-year period. As a panel member you will have flexibility to accept or decline invitations to participate based on your availability. Community Grants Panels are comprised of two Council Officers and three Community Representatives.

Once Community Panel Members have been selected, those who are successful will be invited for an induction prior to accepting panel allocations. The induction will include discussion of the Terms of Reference and Code of Conduct, time frames, expectations of the panel members, processes and training on use of the SmartyGrants Program for assessments.

If you would like to be on a Community Grants Panel, please complete the following Expression of Interest form.
